Alfred Gescheidt Channeled by Robert Trachtengerg in Esquire

I was instantly stopped in my tracks in a magazine store today by the cover of this month’s Esquire Magazine, which features a photo montage
of Jimmy Fallon by Robert Trachtenberg

Strikingly similar to Alfred’s 1964 photo from 30 Ways to Stop Smoking, wouldn’t you agree?

I bought a copy in order to take my time and perhaps find a ‘concept credit’, but no luck.

Nice to see that Alfred's work still resonates today

Maybe I’m just old fashioned, but seems like a small ‘thank you’ note would have been nice.

Would you agree? Comments welcome..

  1. A "concept" can't be copyright protected, only an "execution" of a concept. But this image sure does harken back to an Alfred Gescheidt photo from decades earlier. See more Alfred originals at: http://www.Gescheidt.com
